Sandler ans Barrymore Blend well in BLENDED

It's been some time but Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore come together again.  The plot line begins with well meaning friends trying to set them up on a date turned disaster.  Sandler plays a single father with three daughters trying to do his best to raise them as a widower . While Barrymoore also plays a single parent trying to raise 2 sons with a self-centered ex-husband. Both of them get the opportunity of a lifetime to take their children to Africa. There they embark on a forced blended family adventure as they go to resort and spend the week with other blended families.

Although Sandler and Barrymore are great comedic actors, Terry Crews steals the show with his singing and performing. Kevin Nealon, also in the movie, plays a tablemate with the couple. He says things you want to but can't in some of the awkward situations.

Sandler has blended the right cast and crew to create a great movie!
I loved it!  I may see it again!

Captain America: Cap is back

Chris Evans returns in this highly anticipated sequel.  His friends do come along, Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and new found friend Anthony Mackie (Falcon).  Captain Steve Rogers comes face to face with his past creating an uncertain future. He must travel back to New Jersey where it all began.  At the same time, there are some wonky things going on with S.H.I.E.L.D.  and Nick Fury tries his best to figure it all out. In the midst of this all Captain America becomes a fugitive.

This film has great special effects and awesome fast moving fight scenes.  This film also shows the film connecting to the new upcoming Avengers movie sequel!  Although critics gave this low rated reviews. I believe it is a great sequel full of action and background knowledge about S.H.I.E.L.D.  I just may see it again!

Warnings:
Loud noise, explosions, continued potshots at the Captain America's age
Lack Anthony Mackie on the Film's trailer and posters

About Last Night-About Kevin Hart

He does it again.  Kevin Hart adds laughter to this movie.  Michael Ealy, Joy Bryant, and Regina Hall make for a great recasting of this 1986 original movie. Kevin Hart had big shoes to step into as Bernie Litgo's original actor was Jim Belushi. He does it well.  Michael Ealy's eyes make you reminiscent of Rob Lowe's caring yet complicated character Danny. He too steps into the character well. THE LAUGHS ARE CONSTANT but the story still remains.   Hart is matched with the lovely Regina Hall and the interaction between the two makes for more laughs.  Complicated relationships with seemingly simple answers causing more complications. I loved it.

Ride Along: Laughs All Along the Way

Kevin Hart brings life to a movie one more time this year. Hart plays Ben Barber an aspiring police officer.  He would really like to marry his girlfriend Angela (played by the lovely Tika Sumpter) but he has to get through Angela's lone ranger police officer brother James Payton played by none other than Ice Cube.  In order to even get the chance to ask James for her hand in marriage, he has to get through a ride along.

The laughs keep coming as James, tries to deter Ben but somehow Ben finds or stumbles upon ways to help a case that has long plagued James.

Although they try to make Ice Cube funny, the lines are corny making several  references to his own music. However, Hart saves the day with classic one liner and antics of the Hart kind.  John Leguizamo and Brian Callen also provide some comic relief to Ice Cube's hard exterior.

I really liked this movie! I love my one liners and Kevin Hart does it with such ease.  You easily fall in love with Ben Barber and root for him the whole way.

Grudge Match: Raging Bull vs.Rocky

Let me just say I believe the writers of this film simply began with the thought, what if Rocky Balboa and Jake LaMotta had a fight.  In a lighter faire than the previously mentioned movies, Grudge Match takes a look at the reason a final grudge match did not happen.  An ESPN special sparks an interest into former fighters Hank " Razor" Sharp (Stallone) and Billy "the Kid" Mcdonnen (DeNiro).   The special marks the 30th anniversary of the unfufilled event.  Second generation boxing promoter Dante Slate Jr. (Hart) comes up with different ways of comeuppance surrounding this event.

There are good laughs in this movie.  While from the trailers it would seem the biggest laughs would come from Hart, but Alan Arkin steals the show. He plays a crude curmudgeon with a big heart.

There are many tongue-and-cheek references to Raging Bull and Rocky that give you a little giggle. Over all, if you are a boxing movie fan, this one is for you.
